Ex-Steelers Cornerback Finds Spot in UFL

Former Steelers cornerback Quincy Wilson is set to join the San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL after a brief stint with Pittsburgh in 2022. Signed in September of that year, Wilson made notable contributions, including playing a crucial role in the Steelers’ victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite his efforts, he was eventually released from the practice squad.

A seasoned NFL player, 27-year-old Wilson has had previous stints with the Colts, Dolphins, Jets, and Giants since entering the league in 2017 as a second-round pick from Florida. His tenure with the Colts extended through the 2019 season before he was traded to the New York Jets. In 2020, Wilson briefly played for the Jets before being waived and subsequently landing with the New York Giants. The 2021 season saw him with the Giants before signing a futures contract with the Miami Dolphins.

Over the course of his NFL career, Wilson has accumulated two interceptions, 62 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, 3 tackles for loss, and 8 pass deflections. He notably started 11 games, with 10 occurring in his initial two years with the Colts. Wilson’s last starting appearance was in 2020 with the Jets, and he was not active for any games in 2021 while on the Giants’ practice squad. Now, he embarks on a new chapter with the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL.
