Former Warriors guard signs two-way contract with Bucks

Breaking News: Free Agent Guard Ryan Rollins Signs Two-Way Deal with Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed free agent guard Ryan Rollins to a two-way contract, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Rollins, who was selected 44th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft after two standout seasons at Toledo, had a limited rookie season with the Golden State Warriors before being traded to the Washington Wizards last summer in a deal involving Chris Paul and Jordan Poole.

Despite his potential, the 21-year-old saw limited action with the Wizards, appearing in only 10 games for a total of 66 minutes before being released in January. His departure from the Wizards came amidst legal issues, as he was accused of shoplifting from a Target store in Virginia. Rollins was charged with seven counts of petit larceny, a Class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia.

While the resolution of Rollins’ legal situation is unclear, the Bucks evidently saw enough potential in him to offer a chance. He is seen as having strong defensive abilities and an aptitude for shot creation, traits that were evident during his college career and in limited NBA action.

With two-way contracts available, Milwaukee didn’t need to release any players to accommodate Rollins. This move represents a low-risk opportunity for the Bucks, who hope Rollins can contribute positively to their team dynamic.
