According to the team’s official website, Maple Leafs management held an end-of-season media availability on May 10, 2024, where they discussed the coaching change and the search process. No specific details on potential candidates or a timeline for the hiring have been provided yet.

The Maple Leafs are one of the Original Six NHL franchises and have a storied history, with 40 head coaches in their franchise history.  Five of their former coaches have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as players, while another five have been inducted as builders.

The team will be looking to find the right coach to help them take the next step and end their long Stanley Cup drought, which dates back to 1967. Maple Leafs fans will be closely following the coaching search in the coming weeks and months as the organization looks to make a critical hire for the future of the franchise.
