The Georgia Bulldogs will have a familiar face under center during the 2024 season.
Starting quarterback Carson Beck has announced that he will be returning to Georgia for his redshirt senior season next year.
Beck was dominant in his first year as Georgia’s starting quarterback, throwing for 3,738 yards, 22 touchdowns and just six interceptions while completing 72.4 percent of his passes.
Beck led the Bulldogs to a 12-1 record, but their lone loss came against Alabama in the SEC Championship and eliminated them from the College Football Playoff, crumbling the team’s hopes of winning a third straight national championship.
A 4-star prospect in the class of 2020, Beck originally joined the Bulldogs for spring drills that year before they were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He appeared in one game as a freshman, though that year didn’t count against any player’s eligibility.
Beck entered the 2021 season competing for the backup quarterback job behind JT Daniels, but when Daniels went down with an oblique injury, he was passed over in favor of Stetson Bennett. Beck appeared in just four games that year, allowing him to redshirt and maintain four years of eligibility entering the 2022 campaign. He was Bennett’s primary backup last year and appeared in eight games as Georgia went on to win its second straight national title
