The Kentucky Wildcats appear to have a new option for that 13th scholarship spot on Mark Pope’s first roster.
On Monday, class of 2025 recruit Jeremiah Fears announced that Kentucky had contacted him.
“Just got a call from the Kentucky Wildcats,” said Fears.
This came just hours after Fears decommitted from Illinois, and he will now reclassify into 2024.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound product of Compass Prep in Arizona originally committed to the Illini over Kansas, Michigan, Ole Miss, and Providence. He holds additional offers from Tennessee, Arizona, Oregon, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Florida State, and Georgia.
Fears is currently ranked 33rd nationally by 247 Sports Composite for the 2025 class and the seventh-best combo guard. ESPN, On3, and Rivals classify him as a point guard. His highest ranking is 24th overall at ESPN.
