KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Former Tennessee guard Santiago Vescovi will play with the Golden State Warriors in their NBA summer league. The Warriors posted the official summer roster on social media Sunday afternoon.

Vescovi averaged 10.3 points over five seasons with the Vols and had a record-breaking career at Tennessee since joining the team in the 2019-2020 season.

He started the most games in Tennessee basketball history with 144 and holds the program record for steals with 212.

The Uruguay native was a fifth-year leader this season at Tennessee, along with other impactful veterans like Joshiah-Jordan James, who recently signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Indians Pacers.

Although it was his first season as a Vol, 5th-year guard Dalton Knecht was also a part of the impressive senior class. On Wednesday night, he was picked 17th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Although Vescovi wasn’t as strong an offensive force as he was in the prior season with the Vols, he still showed tremendous leadership, allowing guys like Knecht to be used as more of an offensive weapon.

Vescovi remains the lone player in program history to record more than 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals. He also ranks second in made three-pointers with 325 at Tennessee. In his junior season, he became the second Vol in history to make more than 100 deep balls, recording 102.

Former Tennessee men’s basketball guard Santigo Vescovi signed with the Golden State Warriors.

Vescovi was not selected in the 2024 NBA draft. He played at Tennessee from 2019-24.

The former Vol averaged 10.3 points per game during his five-year career at Tennessee. He was a two-time first-team All-SEC selection and holds the school record with 212 career steals.

Vescovi, a native of Uruguay, also holds the career record for starts (144). He is the only player in school history to record more than 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals.

Vescovi will play for the Warriors in the 2024 NBA Summer League. The Warriors will compete in both the California Classic Presented by CarMax at Chase Center in San Francisco, California (July 6-10) and the NBA 2K25 Summer League, which takes place July 12-22 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
