Team USA and Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant is one of the most entertaining players to watch on the basketball court, but he’s also worth following on social media, where he actively engages with fans and handles criticism with his signature flair.

KD recently talked about his social media activity. He explained that his goal is to make the experience more enjoyable for his followers, and how he interacts with people depends on how they treat him.

“The whole point of having social media is to interact with people, right? You follow me for a chance to maybe interact with me. So it depends on how I feel, I’mma interact. If you troll, I’mma troll back. If you show love, I’mma show love back,” Durant shared in a conversation on Boardroom. “I kind of try to reciprocate energy as much as possible to give people more of an in-depth experience of who I am.”

Durant was particularly active on X (formerly Twitter) during the Paris 2024 Olympics. He engaged in debates with fans about implementing FIBA rules in the NBA and challenged those he felt were making broad, unsupported claims.

He even defended Team USA fiercely after a narrow victory over Serbia, taking aim at American fans who criticized the team. Durant also called out Denver Nuggets fans for supporting Serbia and Nikola Jokic instead of Team USA.

Despite the online drama, Durant excelled at the Olympics, leading Team USA to its fourth gold medal. At 35 years old, he averaged 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game over six contests, solidifying his place as the most decorated male basketball player in Olympic history.
