The Suns HC, Frank Vogel, revealed that Kevin Durant will not suit up for the Phoenix Suns tonight. The medical team still had something they were concerned about KD’s hamstring injury. Therefore, he will not play against the Clippers tonight. Vogel further added that the 35-year-old is still considered day-to-day and will be monitored and reassessed in the next 48 hours.
That is a massive blow for the Suns, as Kevin has been their best and most consistent superstar throughout the season. He has been a menace on both ends of the floor. KD is averaging 29.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Suns needed Kevin in the line-up tonight as they will face the Clippers Big 4. The Clippers have been in great form recently, with James Harden, Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and Kawhi Leonard finally figuring things out and playing in elite form. It will be tough for Phoenix to get past the Clippers in KD’s absence.
Kevin Durant and Co. have been dealing with injuries throughout the season. First, their two superstars, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker, missed several games due to multiple injuries. Booker finally returned to the line-up and started to find his rhythm. Beal tried to do the same but got injured again a few games after his return. Beal made his second return on December 29 against the Charlotte Hornets.
But just two games after Beal’s return, Durant was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. The Suns cannot seem to catch a break. They formed the Big 3 of KD, Booker, and Beal in hopes of winning a title this season. But the three superstars have hardly played together on the court.
Hopefully, Durant will make a full recovery in the coming days and join his co-stars soon. Meanwhile, Frank Vogel will have to find a way to beat the Clippers without Kevin Durant in the line-up.
