Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy – In a thrilling display of speed and skill, Swiss skier Lara Gut-Behrami claimed her second consecutive Super-G victory in the Alpine Ski World Cup 23/24, conquering the challenging slopes of Cortina.
Gut-Behrami, who won last week’s Super-G event in St. Anton, Austria, continued her impressive form, finishing 0.35 seconds ahead of Norway’s Kajsa Vickhoff Lie. The Swiss star’s remarkable performance solidified her position as a top contender for the overall World Cup title.
The Cortina Super-G course, known for its demanding terrain and technical sections, proved no match for Gut-Behrami’s exceptional talent and experience. She navigated the 1,800-meter track with precision and power, posting a winning time of 1:16.27.
“I’m absolutely delighted with my performance today,” Gut-Behrami said in a post-race interview. “The course was incredibly challenging, but I managed to stay focused and execute my plan perfectly.”
With this victory, Gut-Behrami extends her lead in the Super-G standings and moves closer to claiming the coveted crystal globe. Her impressive run of form has set the stage for an exciting battle for the overall World Cup title, with several top skiers still in contention.
The Alpine Ski World Cup 23/24 continues next week in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, where Gut-Behrami will look to maintain her momentum and further solidify her position as a top contender for the championship.
