The Dallas Mavericks’ seemingly endless offseason only has a few more weeks until training camp, and fans are fired up to see how Dallas can compete in a stacked Western Conference after an incredible run to the NBA Finals last season.

One of Dallas’ biggest issues in the Finals was 3-point shooting, but that issue will be long gone as the Mavs signed Klay Thompson to a three-year deal early in the offseason. Thompson is poised to be an excellent fit next to Doncic and Irving offensively and Dallas made a couple of moves to ensure their defense remains elite as well.
Dallas signed Naji Marshall and traded for Quentin Grimes, and both players will likely be the two best perimeter defenders on the team right away. Players like Grimes and Marshall thrive in Dallas’ system, and they could become extremely valuable to the Mavs if they can play their roles effectively.
This Mavericks team has commanded tons of attention from the rest of the NBA, and Kevin Durant is recently someone who praised a pair of Dallas’ players on the “Boardroom” show. Durant created a “perfect” NBA 2K starting five, and two Mavs players were on this team.
NBA 2K is obviously just a video game, but Durant listing two Mavs players on his dream starting five could be a sign that he wants to team up with these guys eventually
