The Bayern Munich youngster might miss a good opportunity…
According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern Munich star Aleksandar Pavlović was in line to make his first start for the German national team before he was held out thanks to an undisclosed injury.
Ultimately, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann started Bayer Leverkusen’s Robert Andrich and Borussia Dortmund’s Pascal Groß as his central midfield pairing.
The 20-year-old Bayern Munich start had been eagerly anticipating getting his first starting appearance, but was relegated to warming up on his own:
Aleksandar Pavlović was supposed to make his debut in the starting eleven for the DFB today, but is slightly injured. He is warming up in Zenica without the rest of the team.
Abendzeitung’s Patrick Strasser said Pavlović had his left calf taped up:
#Pavlovic has heavily taped his left calf. Is warming up very carefully at the edge of the pitch. Is doing light running exercises away from my teammates. #BIHGER
According to a report from Sky Sport (via @iMiaSanMia), Pavlović is a doubt for Germany’s Monday clash against The Netherlands. Also, the problem could be with his knee and not his calf:
It remains to be seen if Pavlović will be healthy enough to start on Monday vs. the Netherlands (admittedly, it does not yet look good). Surely, if the youngster does not get the chance to start during this set of UEFA National League games, he seems destined to get that opportunity in November.
