This is one of the better, more thoughtful answers I’ve seen from a prospect on why he chose a school… particularly in terms of acknowledging the NIL resources aspect of today’s college football world while also perfectly verbalizing what “fit” means. If you’re Shane Beamer and that staff, this is exactly how you want prospects to feel about you.
Donovan Murph on why he chose South Carolina:
“Everybody that’s at South Carolina wants to be there, and it’s a brotherhood,” Murph said. “You want to be somewhere like that. You want to be somewhere where you like being, and with this whole new world, it’s not just about money and NIL and all this other stuff. It’s about the people around you, and that’s why South Carolina was the choice.
“With my team, it was a brotherhood. Are you going to like being around these people? Are you going to like going through the grind with these people? Are you going to hate these people? Are you going to talk to these people after practice, like, ‘Oh, what are you doing?’ And it’s always like that, especially with my receiver class. Me and my receiver class are like this already. Even though I’m not up there yet, I try to be there as much as possible and stay up to date. But no, I just love being around those guys.”
