Seeking more playing time, he transferred to Mars Hill College (now Mars Hill University). Jon’s coaching career began in 2014 when he joined his father’s staff at the University of Georgia as a quality control assistant. During that season, the Bulldogs achieved a 10-3 record, with the offense setting school records by scoring 537 points and averaging 41.3 points per game.
In 2015, Jon transitioned to the NFL, serving as an offensive assistant for the Buffalo Bills under head coach Rex Ryan. The following year, he reunited with his father at the University of Miami, taking on the role of quarterbacks coach.
