OXFORD — Ole Miss women’s basketball is set to begin the 2024-25 schedule with a marquee nonconference matchup outside the United States.
The Rebels are scheduled to face Southern Cal in Paris on Nov. 4, the program announced on Tuesday. Ole Miss will become the 17th Division I men’s or women’s basketball program to play a regular-season game in Europe. The Trojans earned a No. 1 seed in last season’s NCAA Tournament before falling short in the Elite Eight against UConn. Likely to be highly ranked heading into the new season, Southern Cal is led by one of the faces of the college game in JuJu Watkins, who posted 27.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as a freshman.
Expectations should be high for coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and the Rebels, too. Ole Miss returns standout forward Madison Scott and will get star guard KK Deans back from injury next season.
The Rebels went 24-9 and won an NCAA Tournament game last season, marking their third consecutive 20-win campaign.
