Posey was an assistant with the Washington Wizards the past two years, and his first season in 2022-23 was Bradley Beal’s final one with the team.
The 12-year NBA veteran also worked as an assistant under Tyronn Lue with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers from 2014-19, winning the 2016 NBA Finals and making four straight Finals appearances in his tenure.
Posey’s playing career stretched among seven different teams after he was drafted 18th overall in 1999: the Denver Nuggets (1999-2003), Houston Rockets (2003), Memphis Grizzlies (2003-05), Miami Heat (2005-07), Boston Celtics (2007-08), New Orleans Hornets (2009-10) and Indiana Pacers (2010-11), The 6-foot-8 Posey averaged 8.6 points across 864 career regular season games (479 starts) and won the 2006 NBA Finals with the Heat and 2008 NBA Finals with the .
