Angel Reese had a five-word reaction to Michelle Obama‘s remarks at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Tuesday
In her speech, the former first lady called Republican nominee Donald Trump misogynistic, racist, petty, and small in the powerful takedown that upstaged her husband Barack.
As Obama delivered her address, the Chicago Sky rookie took to X to rave about what was said on the podium.
‘MICHELLE SAID WHAT SHE SAID,’ Reese wrote.
Obama also referred to Kamala Harris as ‘my girl’ and called on the Democratic Party to unite behind her after Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
The former first lady declared ‘hope is making a comeback’ as she entered the arena Tuesday night.
‘Not just here in this arena, but spreading all across this country we love, a familiar feeling that’s been buried too deep for too long. You know what I’m talking about? It’s the contagious power of hope.’
Obama invoked hope as a reminder of her husband’s historic run for the presidency. Obama gave a ringing endorsement of Harris calling her ‘ready for this moment.’
‘Her story is your story. It’s my story. It’s the story of the vast majority of Americans trying to build a better life,’ she said.
Reese is not the first hoops star to rally behind Harris during the convention. On Monday, Golden State Warriors and Team USA men’s basketball head coach Steve Kerr took to the podium to endorse the former vice president on her presidential bid.
Before ending his speech by taunting Trump with Steph Curry’s iconic ‘Night Night’ celebration, Kerr made several comparisons to NBA players coming together to win gold for the United States and the upcoming elections.
Kerr enumerated the players’ relentless work ethics and how they put their competition and rivalries aside to achieve a common goal for the stars and stripes. ‘The last time I was in a packed basketball arena was in Paris, France,’ Kerr opened. ‘Nine days ago, some of the most incredible players on earth – 12 incredible American men – came together to win Olympic gold.
