Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman expressed his frustration following the team’s 28-21 loss to Oklahoma State, emphasizing that costly mistakes played a significant role in the defeat. Despite a competitive performance, the Razorbacks were unable to capitalize on key opportunities, and Pittman acknowledged that errors in execution ultimately tipped the scales in OSU’s favor.

“We made too many mistakes, plain and simple,” Pittman said in the post-game press conference. “You can’t win games when you shoot yourself in the foot, and that’s exactly what we did tonight.”

Arkansas found themselves in a close contest, but turnovers, missed tackles, and penalties at crucial moments derailed their efforts. A critical fumble in the third quarter, coupled with multiple false starts on offense, stalled drives that could have shifted the momentum in Arkansas’ favor. OSU took advantage of these miscues, turning them into points that widened the gap on the scoreboard.

“We had a chance to win,” Pittman continued. “But when you give a team like Oklahoma State extra chances, they’re going to make you pay for it, and that’s what happened.”

The Razorbacks’ defense played tough, managing to hold the Cowboys’ high-powered offense in check for much of the game. However, missed assignments and key defensive breakdowns allowed OSU to convert critical third downs and sustain drives that wore down the Arkansas defense.

Pittman emphasized that while the team fought hard, they need to clean up the small details if they hope to be successful moving forward. “We’ve got to be better, more disciplined. This loss is on us, and we have to learn from it.”

The defeat drops Arkansas to 4-3 on the season, leaving Pittman and his staff with plenty to address before their next matchup.
