Breaking News; Texas Tech looks to carry momentum on homecoming weekend vs. Baylor…more details…

Both teams are coming off a midseason bye week as the Red Raiders look to go 4-0 in Big 12 play.

Texas Tech is fresh off a bye week where they stood alone atop the Big 12 standings, and head into a homecoming matchup against Baylor tied with BYU and Iowa State at 3-0 in league play.

Baylor comes into town on the other side of the coin, 0-3 in Big 12 play and 0-4 against power conference teams this season. As both teams come in off a bye, the Red Raiders are looking to maintain momentum with an excellent opportunity on their doorstep.

What has created that opportunity for Tech has been finding a way to win, which has been the message for the Red Raiders all year. Four of Tech’s five wins have come in one-score affairs, something that head coach Joey McGuire believes has gone the other way for the Bears, making them a bigger challenge than their record may say.

“You could flip their record really easily, and they could be 4-2 because you look at their last three games, they had opportunities win the game. So, it’s going to be a lot of fun and I’m glad we’re at home,” McGuire said.

“I know this sounds crazy but I just want to be 1-0 this week and 4-0 in the Big 12, I mean we have such a great opportunity,” McGuire said. “So whether it’s Baylor or it’s whoever is coming here to play, we’ve just got to find a way to win.”
